Dennis Kerrigan, Zurich North America Chief Legal Officer, moderated a panel at a recent meeting of the National Governors Association on jobs, economic growth and the importance of foreign direct investment in the U.S. Dennis stated:
“Global companies operating in the U.S. have had a positive impact upon our economy in many ways, including high wages, investments in facilities and equipment, the purchase of local goods and services, and significant workforce development and training programs. Public officials, including governors and their state governments, should encourage such foreign direct investment by ensuring a level playing field for foreign-owned firms by providing regulatory certainty, favorable tax policies, and equal access to government services.”
Dennis is also the Board Vice Chair of the Organization for International Investment (OFII). Foreign direct investment supports more than 24 million U.S. jobs.
